When I wrote "stealthy" I meant not so noticeable when you lift the hood. Or the less clutter the better, I've seen several setups but they had to much gadgetry all over.

Funny you should haul up this post, it's been around awhile.

The Dakota Digital units are about $150. at most HOD ROD supply stores. I don't know how stealthy they are. A buddy talked to their reps at shows & the reps know their stuff about how they work, etc. I think they are pretty compact. I think they drive off your speedo cable. I think they offer a couple different ways to control speed. My buddy plans to get one for his "46 Coupe with 302 SBF & C4.

Good Luck

I have heard of a unit made by Rostra Precision Controls which is supposed to be "stealthy" A person I know installed one of these and is very happy with it.

I wonder if the available (radio conversion) 6Vpos to 12Vneg transformers would provide enough juice to power the Audiovox?

I have installed Audiovox vacuum units on 5, 6 & 7 T-Birds with good results.  Changed '57 to Audiovox Unltracruise II mounted on firewall.  Works great.  They offer a dash mount and turn signal control.  Going to try and install their rear collision avoidance and clear lane reset behind grill.  I recommend to change to mechanical brake light switch with any cruise control.  Charlie

It's important to me that it be stealthy as well or at least uncluttered. I would also like to hear more about this subject.

You might check with Rostra controls and see what there is to offer and let us know what you find out. I've seen several birds with cruise, just wasn't paying much attention to the setup at the time.
