Welcome to the site "Yblock32"!  Just a word of advice though, take everything Lon says with a grain of salt, he tends to give all the "fine, respectable Aussies" on this sight a bad rep!!!  Wink Well I guess all families have a "black sheep"!!!!   LOL Tongue

I love the smell of burning rubber in the morning!

Bill ,unfortunately I wont be at Goulburn - other commitments. My brother will be there with his trade stand ( Lilow Autotech). There's no trouble "spreading the faith" in Victoria, there's plenty of Y-Blocks coming out of the woodwork. I'm actually now rebuilding a spare 272 that I had hiding under the bench and recently picked up another 272 for a mate who plans to put it in a '32 roadster. By the way was it you who recently picked up some Offy dress up gear from down near Melbourne? Good luck to you if it was , my mate was trying to locate those bits and buy them back.

I like the headers too, interesting design , looks like a tri-y configuration, bet they sound real good. What kind of mufflers you run on that thing??

Yes Michael they are tri-y. When I made them they had look like they could have been made in the sixties and not look like SBC headers. The rest of the system is made from 2.1/4" mandrel bends & tubing. Yes it does sound good ( but I'm biased ) and it also meeets our BS 96 decibel noise test for registration.

My apologies, i couldnt remember those offy parts you mentioned at that time but was reminded when i inadvertantly met your mate who was originally after them, i approached him at the 2009 Hot Rod Nationals at Goulburn on Saturday because he had great Y block V8 emblem on his tee shirt! Spreading the faith!! had great time but 760 odd cars and my A model coupe was Only Y block engine there! despite most folks going to use or thinking about these engines. My old faithfull 312 tripower started to flood often on rear carb and despite clean out still did it, so this week, its carb week! Best regards. Aussie bill.
