I purchased many parts from them in the past 15 years.   They used to ship within one day of receiving your order, now it takes a few days.  They no longer have a customer service phone line.  They don't have any phone contact options.   I bought a rebuilt part from them with a core charge.  The part (power steering control valve) was installed and seemed to be working so I sent my core in and got the refund.  Today I went on their website to get a warranty replacement and I have no idea what the status of my order is.   I am concerned because I read a few posts on Facebook and people seem to have a lot of issues dealing with them in the last year or two

Has anyone dealt with RA recently?  It seems they have "changed".

I haven't bought anything from RA recently, and I can't remember the last time I saw one of their commercials. At least 2 Tbird parts suppliers that I know of have gone under in as many years. Another that I frequently buy from does not have the parts in stock 50% of the time. They probably can't afford to keep inventory and wait to place orders until customers order. Taking that into consideration, along with inflation and tariffs, it's probably best to buy now and have the parts when needed.                           I bought a set of alloy wheels in 2012. The same wheels have more than tripled in price since then.

I already did what you suggested..........................
The item I purchased power steering control valve, comes with a lifetime warranty from Lares.  Lares will not work directly with me.  Besides the time to remove and replace this part again,  I had to get a wheel alignment done to complete this job.  They (Lares and RA) offer a brand new unit and I want to get them to upgrade and charge me the difference, but I cannot talk to anyone at RA because of their new policy.

Moral of my story............................ Rock Auto has changed and I will NOT be using them again.  I have spent thousands in the past and they were always very helpful.............................buyer beware

i like rock auto but man the shipping is so annoying let me choose which of the locations it sends from. tell me why ill have 10 items for 2 locations, i add 1 item and now its shipping from 8 locations and shipping is over 100. delete that 1 item and it drops to 6 locations. restart order from scratch and its back to 2. sorry for the unrelated rant, but damn ive ragequit too many orders from that place.

Update.......................... I called Lares again and talked to the sales rep for Rockauto.  He told me he cannot even see if RA requested the replacement, because they are difficult for him to deal with and he can't call anyone there either. After pleading my case, he agreed to handle the warranty exchange.
He explained to me the warranty is first handled by the seller's warranty for example 90 days.  After the 90 days Lares will deal direct with the customer.
He also said choosing a vendor that ONLY offers online support could lead to issues.  Summit Racing sells their products and I've had excellent support from Summit.  Anyone interested in a Lares part should consider Summit......

I haven't had to do a core return to RA in well over a decade and it went smoothly then.  I've never tried to get a warranty on a part though. This is good info to know thank you. I've found from experience that anything power steering related is a 80 percent chance it's gonna fail or make horrendous noise out of the box. Not sure what the deal is but because of that I usually buy local so I can drop it on the counter and say say give me another.

Having said that, RA is ALWAYS my first choice when buying parts. Example set of 8 Autolite 46 spark plugs. From Oriellys 42.51. From RA, including shipping, 29.99. Money talks unless I need it that day. Even then I'll run the numbers on Amazon cause usually I can get it next day for cheaper local parts house.

I'll agree that if you have a big order it's a little bit a game of cat and mouse to get the shipping locations to line up but I've done it long enough that I've got a pretty good game on it.

What I'm saying is, don't give up on them for the small stuff. Still a far better bargain than the local corporate big box stores.

Yea if it's not a critical need  they are good for maintenance stuff
Rockauto finally answered my email and I believe they would have "made it right".   The only way to communicate is through email service@rockauto.com
