I have not heard of a C-4 from the factory in '64 trucks.  Trucks used Fordomatic, Cruisomatic, and then FMX from '54 until '74 in trucks as far as I know.  Those are all cast iron case, basically the  same design transmissions.

The C4 was used in the E-SERIES 1964/

The C4 was used in the F-SERIES 1965/ w inline sixes.

The F-SERIES V8 got the C/M.

Kultulz, thanks for correcting me.  I obviously didn't know about the sixes getting C-4s.

Considering there are aftermarket adapters that will mate the Y to a C4, such as the Flat-O Products adapter that I have, there would have been some mention of Y-block-equipped Ford trucks leaving the factory with C4 transmissions. This is the first I've heard of it, and I think it's a myth.

NOTE: (1) Every effort has been made to insure that the above information is correct. However, we will NOT be held responsible for any errors therein NOR for any damages of any kind to anyone relying upon the above information.
NOTE: (2) This list shows the original factory applications for C4/C5 bell housings. Most bell housings will fit other applications not listed here. Main areas to consider are bolt pattern to motor, bolt pattern to transmission case, and depth of bell housing. Most bell housings have other minor, but oftentimes critical, differences depending upon application.
NOTE: (3) I am repeatedly asked which bell housing fits which flywheel. I have NO idea. Since the flywheel almost NEVER remains with the bell, identifying the bells by which flywheel they fit seems to me to be the MOST STUPID way possible of identifying bells. Not only that, but it also appears that many DIFFERENT bells will fit the SAME flywheel and many DIFFERENT flywheels will fit the SAME bell. The bottom line is that if you ask me for a bell housing to fit a certain flywheel, I will ALWAYS tell you that I do NOT have that bell, even if it might be on my shelf. Better to tell you that I don't have it than to repeatedly send you the wrong bell.
NOTE: (4) Many vehicles were equipped at the factory with a cable mount boss on the bell housing. This mounting boss was not always used and was not always drilled. All cable mount type bells can replace the corresponding non-cable mount bell. Applications using the cable mount REQUIRE a bell with cable mount provision.
NOTE: (5) Case fill and pan fill bells do NOT interchange. Case fill bells use the pump bolts to attach to case, while pan fill bells attach directly to the case using five extra bolts around the outside of the pump
