Do a search on EPAS (electric power steering)  I converted my 56 to EPAS using a Toyota unit years ago and am very happy with it. I wrote it up on this site, will post a link when I find it.

Heres the link

Thanks for all your help, however I prefer to go the stock route, mostly because I have some of the parts available to me. Also the Steering box was replaced with a 58 unit some time back.  My car is registered in my jurisdiction as stock, doing major mods requires re registration to modified etc.  Parts I need are a double pulley, 2 hydraulic hoses & the Power Steer Draglink.. Apparently most of those pieces are same for 57-58.  If no where else Dennis Carpenter's Cat lists the hoses  @ $104 / pr..+ shipping. (old cat.)  Also Mummert lists an add on Pulley, but I"m not sure it fits the bill at this point. Trying to find the correct Drag Link in my area could be difficult  ( Vancouver Canada )  Thanks again for your help. ..

A further question?  It appears that the Idler Arm for 57/58 Power Steer is different, based on D. Carpenter's catalogue . Is that correct?  The extra parts needed list I was given, didn't include that item..  --- P.S.- that  apparently is  correct it has  a separate part number..
Further Question : Does anyone have a part # for the Drag Link for  57-58 Power Steering ?.. Thanks..

DRAG LINK - 1957/1958 FORD w/PS - B7A 3304-A

IDLER ARM - 1954/1959 FORD w/PS - B4A 3352-B

"Parts I need are a double pulley, 2 hydraulic hoses & the Power Steer Draglink.. Apparently most of those pieces are same for 57-58."

You need a single sheath or double sheath outer pulley?

Which two hoses, there are four in total?
