Folks, Looking for trunk lid springs part numbers [1955 Ford car]; have the part numbers & illustrations books, but can't find the springs - probably overlooking them! Anyone? Thanks, JLB

Ted,
YES!! Just Couldn't find that; it will help a great deal.
My '55 Crown trunk lid won't stay completely up; was looking at T'Bird "heavy duty" springs as a replacement; but, don't know if they're the same. This is where comparing part numbers is really useful for substitutions that will actually work.
Thank you

Folks, FYI:
The '55 & '56 "SPRING, LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE", Ford P/N B7S-4042760-A (Ford parts book section 42760) is the same for both the 55/56 Sedan cars & the '57 T-Bird.
NPD T-Bird part number T-0420701-2 claims to be a "heavy duty" version which will "cure" the trunk-lid "drooping" as mine does. This issue was apparently fairly typical for both '55 & '56 cars.
Hope this helps others with the same issue.
Regards, JLB

How much force is required to close the trunk/w "heavy duty" spring?

I have severe "sag" on my '57 trunk lid. Just ordered a pair of CASCO's part number 42701B springs which they advertise as "Stonger than 42701A" which are the '55-56 spec springs. Will report back after I install them. Jeff

The 57 trunk is larger & heavier, which explains why it needs a stronger spring. My 55 springs, which could be the originals, are adequate.
