I have a 292 with FOM, On the fuel pump, I noticed some leaking from the center bolted area with all the screws, I did initially clean it and drove it to see if it leaked further, it seems that it does. Someone told be to tighten the screws from the bottom. Either way Im preparing to have to replace it.
It is a DA pump- I would like to keep it the same. I saw recommendations on replacement pumps, and recos for these?
I found a couple including a Carter that claims to be rebuilt to "todays" gas.
I also found a rebuild kit at about 100 bucks.
Thoughts- open to suggestions.
Also I didnt drive the car for a few days, maybe five days and got a pretty harsh gas fume stench, Being this is a wagon, Did go to a vented type gas cap. it had a non-vented and I drove it with that for the trip. We had a very, very hot days recently and now it cooled back down to normal. Since I got it it have a bit of a "fumes smell" going on when I did a fill up.
