Not sure we are all on the same page.  I thought Allen wanted the front pans attached to the frame behind the radiator 

They can be handy for more precise setup of rocker arm geometry.

They may not be necessary but I think Allen is building a correct 54 coup. They have a unique way to mount them. Found mine on eBay and since most people didn’t put them back on they should be out there.  Good luck Allen

You might want to talk to Ted. 

The rocker drip pans weren't used on 57 Y-blocks. He uses them on engines that were equipped with them (if they still exist), but he doesn't add them. He'll probably tell you they aren't necessary.

55 and 56 are the same
