My '55 Tbird is running an ECZ9425-B intake manifold and a 1848-1 Holley 4V. The stock coil bracket is mounted in the two holes on the passenger side of the intake manifold.  I have experimented with numerous carb combinations from dual feed Holley's, to triple carbs and dual quads. The issue always seems to be the coil.  I could mount the coil on the firewall, but I would have to drill holes in it. I have seen coil mounts that mount the coil vertically, but I wonder if the coil will hit the hood?  Are there any off the shelf solutions to this issue?  Other than the stock location, how do you mount your coil?  Thanks...

I'm not a Bird owner so I'm not sure what the issue is.  The coil bracket pictured is a quality part designed much like OEM and is available. Hope this helps, JEFF.........http://forums.y-blocksforever.com/uploads/images/abcbe6f2-f2bf-439a-a36c-53d9.jpghttp://forums.y-blocksforever.com/uploads/images/389b62b3-e9cf-4550-8802-fb15.jpghttp://forums.y-blocksforever.com/uploads/images/947c68dc-673b-49cf-915d-5ed8.jpg

I assume this bracket bolts to the same holes in the manifold you can see below?  Can you provide a source and part number for the bracket?  Turning the coil 90 degrees would work.

I made no modifications to the "-B" iron manifold and yes, it appears to be the same hole shown holding your coil. This bracket is a one hole mount and holds the coil securely. Try this link.  .https://www.summitracing.com/parts/fms-m-12044-a2

That's funny, I never thought about a one hole bracket.  Sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees. Thanks!

I had a 3 carb set up on my 54.  The manifold did not have the mounting holes that the stock intake has.  I made up a bracket that mounted on the two studs that held down the intake manifold and mounted the stock bracket to that.  Worked really good.  Went back to 4 BBL , don't remember what happened to the bracket so can't show what I made.

I have a Blue Thunder intake with a 750 Holley on my 57 Bird. Coil is mounted with the original bracket with no issues. Two bolts. the coil is lengthways on the intake. Don't see the problem

1957 Fords and Mercurys with a 312 and Carter 4v carbs had a bracket that mounted the coil longitudinally.
