Can't find out what aftermarket tach will work with the Petronix Ignitor III and coil in my Ford 292 Y-block. Have looked on line and can't find a straight answer. Is someone running a tach that works that can advise me what to buy?

Have you talked to Pertronix on your question?

The information you are seeking should be found on the Pertronix website and included with the Pertronix lll. It should be compatible with any electric tach.

Mine seems ok with a Moon tach [modern] . However I would never recommend the Moon tach I have a modern Moon Tach in my TBird. Looks great and works with my Pertronix One Unit and Flamethrower coil.

This one is currently sold thru Summit. It’s has listed Bosch as the manufacturer but I’m sure it’s overseas to the west. It’s appearance was what I wanted and accuracy is difficult because of the 8K max. However the calculations at 60 is correct. The ignition is a Pertonix II.
