I have a Y-Block thermostat housing that does not have the bypass hose fitting. Where can I buy this fitting?

Well, I've never seen one without the bypass fitting because I think they are pressed into the housing. The hose end is a 5/8" barb that any good hardware store should have, but the housing I don't believe has threads for a bypass fitting. The outside of the housing looks pretty corroded. How is the inside? If it has a lot of pits I would just get another housing. You don't want any coolant leaks! There are a lot of them out there and they are not that expensive.

At one time most auto parts stores had the bypass tube, it just presses in. I've seen them on Ebay and I think most T bird suppliers and places like Macs have them. https://www.macsautoparts.com/ford_mercury_passenger/water-bypass-tube-steel-5-8-od-x-2-1-2-long-v8-ford-only.html

5/8 coper pipe will work ,best is if you have a oilpump pickup pipe tube, used that, it is correct size and press fit

you have to come up with these fixes are you end up chasing all over the place.you can wait for weeks for some small part.all part of dealing with obsolete parts.
