I was wondering if any other carb would work on my 239 with manual transmission. I did not know if an intake is available for this engine and also the accelerator hook up. Thanks

Edelbrock made an aluminum intake manifold for the 1954 239 heads but those are like finding hen’s teeth.  The cast iron four barrel manifold from a 1954 Mercury with the 256 engine is a bolt on for the 1954 Ford 239 engines.  if using a modern carburetor in lieu of a Holley 2140 or 4000 (Teapots), early Rochester or Carter, then a carb adapter will be required.  There are still a few of those Merc 256 intake manifolds floating around.

There is an Edelbrock 548 setup on Bay right now but the seller seems to be in a fantasy land.  I see them come up a couple times a year.  Keep looking and a more reasonable one may show up.

There are also big Strombergs which are produced brand new.

Here’s a picture of the Edelbrock #548 intake for the 1954 engines.  This one has been repaired at the front where the thermostat flange had eroded badly.

I have a ford manifold 2V and a ford 2bbl carb with linkage for that manifold. The pn for the manifold is EBU 9425D.  The carb is Ford EAB.
