On the 292s found in fullsize cars, did they all have the 45 degree elbow for the heater valve on the intake?

I heard 55 yes but not 56. My parts and illustration guide shows a 45 fitting for 56 as well.

I bought a properly sized brass 45 degree fitting but wanted to make sure it should be used on a 56 fullsize with a 292 or if thats just an error in the ford illustration guide.
