On the 292s found in fullsize cars, did they all have the 45 degree elbow for the heater valve on the intake?
I heard 55 yes but not 56. My parts and illustration guide shows a 45 fitting for 56 as well.
I bought a properly sized brass 45 degree fitting but wanted to make sure it should be used on a 56 fullsize with a 292 or if thats just an error in the ford illustration guide.

It depends on where the 56 was assembled and when. 2 of the 5 ,56 fords l.ve owned had the 45 elbow 3 didn't.. 2 of my 56s were low mileage originals both assembled at Marwar. NJ the one assembled in Oct 1955 have the 45 elbow, the other assembled in May 1956 did not.

I kbow it was built in the dallas plant and was purchased May 12, 1956. So i figure some time in April 1956 was the production date.

Maybe built just before or just after also, My data plate for production code is 3A3525E. Based off what my Crown Vic Ass. paperwork shows for decoding this it states "the production code consists of a number signaling the day of the month the unit was completed, a letter signifying the month of the year and a scheduled item number.. So 3A = January 3rd. Seems odd that the car was completed January 3rd but my original bill of sale indicates delivery date of 5-12-56. besides that 3525E is supposed to be a sequence given to the body by the factory. Still have not figured out what the E stands for and ive been trying to figure that aspect out for years.

Can You post a Picture of the VIN Plate? I assume it looks similar to the Sample Picture?

That's a very unusual Code. Not an ex Police Car maybe? Maybe Someone else here can shed some Light. I would be interested to know what it means.

Nope, grandfather bought the car new, I got photos of the car back in 1962. That's why I have been stumped, I forgot I looked at the production code before and the E is the thing that got me wondering what could that be for. Maybe it was something for the dallas plant but not much is around information wise about the dallas plant.
