Bump: Still looking. One lead from Oldmics; but, still haven't connected.  Need something soon; or, will need to fabricate; as, I need to move car to another location "real soon now".

Not sure what to look for in my stash.  '56 would not be factory equipped with a B manifold,  Therefore, would your application require a '56 or a '57 bracket?  Also, it could be driven without the linkage to the transmission but you will not have kickdown  nor crisper shifts with advanced throttle.  Easy driving would not hurt the transmission but the shift from 2-3 will be soft and happen early.

The standard 1956 Linkage Setup will work on the "B' manifold with no Problems. I had to ad some Washers under the Bracket that bolts to Manifold  level it but other than that it worked fine. You have to adjust the Linkage and  Transmission Pressure  Rod to correct Length using the Procedure shown in the Fordomatic Manual. That pressure control Rod down to Transmission is very important as it controls internal Pressure in the Transmission for all Shifts-not just Kickdown. I would not suggest driving it without that Rod hooked up and properly Adjusted.

Ditto on what oldcarmark said.  I friend of mine with a 56 Bird put on a B manifold and he used the 56 linkage,  If I remember correctly, he also had to use some shims/washers  to,level things out.

Thanks, folks.

I've just gotten some word back on the line from Oldmics; and, am really hopeful that that will work out very soon.  In the meantime, I may need to "cobble" something together just to get the car moved from where it is to where it needs to go.

I really appreciate the additional information regarding the '56 linkage, too!

FYI ONLY - (Not Meant To Start Debate or Arguments)

The 56 BIRD and 57 BIRD had their own unique brackets as compared to FORD.

1956 BIRD - F/M B6ST 7A185-A
1957 BIRD - F/M B7SZ 7A185-A
1957 FORD - F/M B7AZ 7A185-E

This must have been due to different chassis/body/intake manifold design.

So while different brackets can be made to work, the final calibration of the trans linkage is crucial (non-professional opinion).

Thanks.

My application is specifically a 1955 Crown with a 292 (bored to 297) with an ECZ-B manifold and a Edelbrock 1405 carb: Just so there's no confusion as to what I'm looking for.
