I’ve had a couple of these “kits” to put an alternator on the oem generator bracket. One from a ‘bird supplier, and one from the Classic air company. I pulled the bird out of winter storage and went to check the a/c charge. While I was setting up, I realized the alternator was wobbling all over. Still charging. I shut it down and went looking. This is what I found on the front mounting bolt, which threads into the “coupler” style adapter to the rear mounting point. This is an unrated stainless bolt, maybe something I substituted, or got changed, or who knows. Because of the EFI, electric fans, wipers, and a/c, it’s a pretty heavy 90 amp alternator.

At any rate, it’s got a grade 8 in it now. Might be worth a look if you’re using something similar. Pretty lucky to find it in the garage and not on the side of the road.
