I am looking at a 56 Sunliner with serious interest in buying it. Full frame off Resto in the 90's but still in great Condition. It has Power Windows and Power Seat. I know the Power Windows are fairly uncommon but what about the Power Seat? That would be even rarer than the Power Windows I think? More common in the pricier Mercury Line? It has Power Steering but surprisingly Manual Brakes which I can fix up myself. It was a fairly common high-end option- This is a quality reproduction of the book that was used by salesmen to learn to sell the car & to help them order cars for customers. With 99 pages, it's more detailed than most consumer sales brochures. You will find accessory & power options, detailed descriptions of each model with pictures, comparisons of the features of one model with another, mechanical features of the engines, descriptions of what's New condition for the engine & body, and a complete list of exterior/interior color combinations. You will also find body dimensions, specifications, and standard equipment list. With 99 pages, it's more detailed than most consumer sales brochures. Covers all Mainline Fordor Sedan, Tudor Sedan, & Tudor Business Sedan, Customline Fordor Sedan & Tudor Sedan, Fairlane Victoria Town Sedan, Club Sedan, Sunliner, Fordor Victoria, Crown Victoria, & Crown Victoria Skyliner, Station Wagons, & Thunderbirds.

Fords I had 5 or 6 55 56 Fords including a 55 Sunliner , never had bower brakes on any of them , never felt I needed them. A power seat is a sort of rare option I've seen a few. If you don't mind me asking what kind of money are they asking for the 56 Sunliner your looking at?

Lou, its in Canada. $50,000 CDN which is inline with Prices I have seen on similar Ones listed in US. May even be a little less when You take into Account Exchange at 20+%. There's cheaper Ones and many at higher Prices but I think this is a real nice car for the Money that I want to stay within. My Dad passed away last Month and left Me some Money. I never thought I would be able to consider buying a Sunliner but I am now going to spend some of my Kids Inheritance on a Car I have always wanted. I will be selling my 4 Door once I get it out of Storage later this Month..

Power seat and windows would be rare on a '56. Cousin had one back in the day that had factory air and probably power steering and brakes but I don't think it had a power seat.

I don't know how rare power seats are in sedans, but every 55 Tbird had power seats. They were an option in 56 and 57 plus the 57's had the dial-a-matic (memory)

I have looked at literally Dozens of Listings on the Internet while researching 56 Sunliners and have seen a couple that List power Windows but I don't recall seeing One with Power Seats. Interesting that they were standard on 55 T-Birds and then became an Option in 56 and 57.

I enquired about that One before it was listed on Ebay. The current Owner bought it as it is now and did some Work on it.It has been sitting where it is now for over 14 Months. Outside. He never did get it on the Road. Its a good deal for someone who can pick it up where it is. Not worth the aggravation and Expense of getting it shipped to Me in Canada. Right off the bat the exchange rate is 25% more in C$. I imported the One I have now about 10 Years ago from Florida and it ended up not being worth what it cost Me in the end. Better for Me to find One already in Country if at all possible..

Sounds like a nice car. I'm curious about the power seat. I've got a '54 Merc ragtop with a 4-way power seat (up-down, foward-back). Is the seat in the '56 a 2-way or 4-way?
