I'm pretty sure i just lunched the one in my daily. I was running all over hell and back yesterday, tons of freeway driving and got a little howl going on my way home. I assumed there was something amiss but i didnt think too much until today it started making a real ruckus, started adding drag to the engine and had a pretty hard bang. I made it home and drained the rear and trans only to discover the trans almost dry. That explains why it has been marking it's spot!

So this is what i assume a stock 292 '59 ford transmission(not entirely sure though). It is a topload with a r10 unit on the back, so i guess it is a t86? Now i have a couple more overdrives that i was keeping as spares but they have the almost square side cover(isnt t85/6 d shaped?) so what does that make them? Will it fit with my column shift linkage?

What spline input/output count should i be i dealing with in the car? and is there anything that interchanges beween these two transmissions(shafts, ect)?

I'm pulling stuff after work tomorrow so i can get back on the road asap, like i said this is my daily.

Lastly what are the best sources for rebuild kits for these?
