I have large die set but no 1/4 24 they no longer make that is a antique size. Close as I can come is 12x24 machine thread  I could retap the carb but prefer not to maybe I can find a core that has one. I love old Fords but sometimes I just can't figure out what they were thinking.

That's normal for a factory carb stud. When using threaded rod you have to get a nut or wing nut of the same thread for the top. All thread also gives you the ability to cut the stud to length for a perfect fit. If you don't want that then perhaps a unthreaded rod with the proper threads put on. Do you have a tap and die set?

Wish i could but 1/4-24 is not a standard size it's a 1/4 -24 male in to carb. 1/4-28 female to hold down supercharger bonnet. Don't ask me why but it is.

Ditto - but a 57 teapot?  From and E or F car???

If CASCO or the other parts suppliers don't have one, try Mike Suter, 215-757-3678

You could just get some threaded rod at the local hardware store.
