Of all the heads I have these have the largest valves but with the biggest combustion chambers,I looked them up and they are for a 55 272 2 bbl motor with 7.6 compression where the C1AEs I have are for around 8.8 compression which should work good for regular fuel but slightly smaller valves. I am wanting a motor I can run regular gas in and since I have them just install slightly larger intake valves in and hardened seats and be done,I am not wanting to build a race motor but one that will move my sunliner down the road.

With a 272, you won't get much above 8:1 without domed pistons. So, you want the smallest chambered heads you can afford. You won't have to worry about fuel grade.

have set of c1te truck heads, small chamder, ground int .valve seats to take 56 car intakes. only isue is must use older style plugs as longer reach to close to intake when open. 1.90 intakes would hit the valve. with the biger valve you have new aria for intake seats(.heads not fot sale) i dont think hardened inserts are necessary with normal use, just have a marginal wider seat. if you use reg gas put bit of 2cyle oil in every other tank of gas. hardened seats are needed if you are towing,or putting on high miles, even then with ecg heads risky putting in inserts as not enough material to keep them in. under heavy use.

It's a similar story. The most you will get with a 292 is about 8.6:1.
