Thanks Charlie, its worth $40 to give it a try. I paid $159 for the mount for the FE engine so Im ahead of the game when you consider all the issues associated with changing oil pans and potential clearance issues. Im starting to mock up mid block frame rail mounts for stock yblock motor mounts and just fabricating my own. Im a serious wood worker so I can mock up everything with wood and get a perfect pattern before I make steel ones. I would sure like to drop the engine 1" to get a little cab clearance over the bell on the AOD but not sure how much trouble that would lead to down the road. To me, modifying the cab floor/firewall for AOD means no custom carpet and a floor hump. Either way, its a modification that leads to something else, lol. I may have a F-600 mount for sale, although the guy gives refund within 14 days and pays return shipping. If I dont use it, I may ask him for a refund but I will pay the shipping.

That mount is also used on F100 but I don't know the exact applications.  It should be fairly easy to make that work but it probably will require some custom brackets and welding.

Well, changing the oil pan, pick up and tube, dip stick and the potential of more problems using 3" dropped Posie leaf springs, I bailed on using the FE Adaptor. Jegs was great and returned with free shipping. Now Im back to square one. I bought the F-600 Motor mount posted by Charlie. It looks like its much more stable that the front stock motor mount in an F-100. I just hope the F-100 and F-600 front cross members are the same. Otherwise, back to the drawing board.

If an F-600 front motor mount works, it will definitely provide considerable more stability than the F-100 stock front mount. Problem is, its a long ways back to the next mounting location which is on the end of the AOD Tailshaft. I had purchased a set of Thunderbird "stabilizers" that mount stock mid Yblock motor mounts. I can use them and if they are not enough, I will be fabricating my own mid block motor mounts using stock motor mounts and fabricated mounts to frame rails on both sides. Changing oil pans includes dipstick, pick up, pick up tube, oil pan, and then hurdle of clearance with front axel.

The only swap cross members I see are for FE, and the mounts will be similar, if not exactly the same. Since it is for an FE, the instructions are for an FE. It also calls for a 4 quart front sump pan, again for an FE so not necessarily applicable in this case but a car will be 5 quart, so potentially a lot of problems to overcome there.

There is a hole in the block for the car dipstick tube. It's in front of the cylinder bank, just before the timing cover. You can't move the truck dipstick tube as it is entirely wrong to fit, but a correct car tube will fit.

You can modify a truck pickup to fit a car, but it should not be hard to come up with a proper car pan and tube.

There are car pans and a dipstick and tube on eBay right now.

Thanks for the response Charlie. I am about to head out to the shop and look at the mount now. The mount includes the stock Yblock motor mounts, so yes I believe the motor mount is intended for adapting Y blocks into anything with a 28" frame rails. I did try it in the frame rails ahead of the engine and its a perfect fit. I will check on the axel clearance question. Meanwhile, I am looking for an oil pan from a car to include a pick up tube. Any leads appreciated. I have a post on sell and trade. I did not realize this swap would require a new dip stick and different location, but I get it. If you swap ends on the oil resivoir, only makes sense you have to swap the dip stick too. Im assuming there is a location in the stock block that will allow moving the dip stick from the rear of the engine to the front of the engine? Ill be looking for that as well. So a truck and car both use the same oil pump off the distributer but a car has a longer pickup tube than a truck because the oil resivoir is further away? Is it possible to fabricate a longer tube using a truck pump and pickup?

Will a car pan clear the axle?

Surely they don't actually make a mount for swapping a Y into anything, let alone a truck that came with one.  I'm not finding that on their website if they do.  So, since it is not actually for a Y, any instructions specific to engine fitment are useless.  Can you bolt it to a block and check?  Maybe a rear sump pan will work.  For that matter, maybe a car oil pan will not.

If you do need a car pan, you will also need to get a dipstick and tube.  Mummert probably has stainless tubes.  I also see originals on eBay regularly.  Dipsticks are a little harder to find, though.

I guess with the Transdapt yblock motor mount I ordered from Jegs, Im committed to finding a front sump car oil pan. The instructions that came with the mount specify a yblock oil pan out of a car, not a truck. UGH!

For street use, any truck pan and pickup combo will do the job.  Add a baffle, if the pan does not already have one, to prevent oil from rushing forward while braking.  For performance use, a baffled truck pan with the rear positioned pickup or, if it will fit, a T-Bird pan and pickup.

Any suggestions on what is the best oil pan to use for a Y block 56 Ford F-100 with dropped front axel 3" (raised back up 2" with leaf block spacers), 3" lowering leaf springs, AOD Conversion, and Toyota Power Steering?
