I have hesitated answering this post, because of variables I am not aware of But since no one else has replied I'll give it a shot Basically the only thing you need to do is uncouple the Pitman arm from the center link. bring your wheel straight ahead turn your steering wheel until it stops. Now turn your wheel and count the turns, make a note, then then from that stop turn wheel all the way back to stop. divide by 2 and count back that many turns. Look under the car at the Pitman arm and relationship to the center link hole. You should be pretty close within half the width of the hole. If you are this close, go ahead and attache the Pitman arm. AT this point you could take the car to an alignment shop or try and finish the alignment in the drive way... For that you need the "Track width" and "Toe in" measurement I hope this is the information that you are looking for and it helps you. Best

I only removed the pump, control valve and slave cylinder. I did not remove the tie rods or pitman arm. How do I center the steering gear on the center link? My knowledge on this is lacking.

Did you disconnect the tire rod end when you moved the wheel? If you just pulled the tire over then both tires are still in alignment. It is only necessary to center the steering gear on the center link.

Removed my power steering components (pump, control valve and cylinder) for rebuilding. While they were out I replaced the starter. When installing the starter I turned the passenger side wheel several times by hand to help in getting the starter in position. When I get ready to re-install my power steering components, I want to make sure my steering wheel and steering box are aligned and centered. In other words, how do I ensure that turning the steering wheel all the way to the right from the center position will equal the same number of turns to all the way to the left from the center position? Once that is done if the arms of the steering wheel and horn ring are not at the 3/6/9 o'clock position, how is that adjusted?
Thanks, Danny
