I've been working at getting my 239Y out of my '54 Ford, I've made a couple of special wrenches in order to more easily take out a few bolts,  the bigger headache is getting the two top bell-housing bolts out, and then putting them back in again after the 'new' motor is set into place.  There are two round holes provided in the upper floor hump but these (at least on my car) do not line up with those two bolts, not even close.  I have solved the problem by figuring where the holes should be, then using a 1 1/2 inch hole punch, the kind used to punch out needed holes in big electrical boxes.  This tool makes a perfect clean hole every time, my guesswork was a tad off, I used my air die grinder with a carbide cutter to expand one of the holes in one spot, now the socket & extension goes thru' nicely, we got those two bolts out easily and without laying on the floor trying.
The picture shows the 'new' engine, all set to install when the old it taken out, this one is overhauled, new rings, valve job, new timing chain and rod bearings.  Total cost was a little over 200 bucks, it'll run like new.  I found a rod bearing set on eBay for $20.00, this helped cut costs, rings, gaskets & timing chain from Summit Racing (best price).   Having an extra engine around to overhaul saves a lot of time.
