Edelbrock make old style 2 barrels.  You'd have to check with them about modernization.

Stromberg also still make carbs and they do advertise improved fuel circuits and ported vacuum.  They also have a Big 97 (250cfm).

If you can find them, Demon made some modern 3-bolt carbs.

Are you still using the Loadmatic distributor? I'm not sure if "modern" carbs will work if you do. Putting a 57+ dist can be used with a 6 volt stock or a 6 volt Pertronics if you are still have 6 volts. I'm sure other here do know and will chime in..... Good Luck.
