Ok. I sent my steering box out to be rebuilt. Found out it is the late 56 3 tooth sector box. Unfortunately the sector gear is not available, just the worm gear. Does anybody here know of an NOS parts supplier that may have a sector gear? I would like to have a brand new box when I get it back instead of a semi new one.

Thanks but I already tried them. Someone recommend Joblot. I am amazed that no one reproduces them since the 56 and 57's are so popular. I think the Thunderbird used the same steering gear so that makes it even more puzzling.

I called one but don't remember who it was. I've called so many I can't remember there names. Do you have any contact info for Minter?

You might try Frank Stubbs. He's starting to sell some parts. Newcastle WA, just south of Bellevue. 425-228-1012 Minters site https://www.amosminter.comBoth well known, top level restorers. So, they won't be cheap, if they'll part with it at all.

The original Ford # for the Sector Shaft Assembly for the 3 Tooth Box is B6A-3575-A. Extremely difficult to find NOS. Joblot Automotive sells a replacement Worm Gear for the 3 Tooth Box where You re-use your existing input Shaft and they may possibly have the complete assembly depending on if they have any in stock at the Moment. They also sell a replacement Gear only for the Sector Shaft but only for the 2 Tooth Type Box. I think You will be extremely lucky to find an NOS Sector Shaft for the later Box.

I will say it again, Since the passing of Hal, one of the owners of Joblot Autos last year, they have decided not to continue the business and have sold off most of the stock last yr.
