Go Jerry, there has got to be a market out there for them, hell ebay sells dual manifolds all day long so people would probably buy a nice tuned header if they were available, I would for one.BigGrin

Dutchy:

If you can visualize a set that would fit your chassis, sbc headers come in many configurations.  Cutting the flanges off and welding the tubes to  Y flanges may provide you with a more modern design than the Reds and not be as expensive as having headers built from scratch.

So I am right in thinking that the only non fenderwell header on the market currently off the shelf is the Reds Header version of the classic early Hedman header, and another version log style without a flange. almost everything else is fenderwell or F100 only Yes / No.

Excluding the Thunderbirds and pickups, there isn’t much out there in the way of a conventional chassis header for the cars except the Reds design which mimics the old early Hedman log style.  Haven't talked to Jerry about headers lately so don't know if he's had enough response to tool up for a less expensive header design for the cars.

If someone can verify this would be great.

James: Jerry Christenson's headers are probably the best available, not withstanding their cost. However, in the latest issue #85, of YBM, he writes about bringing out a new version that should be about as effective, but less labor intensive to build. He is looking for customer input on this idea, so you should probably contact him.

I modified cheap Chevy (soorryyy) headers to Y.
Im not quite happy to outcome, but maybe they work.

Y-Block + '59 body + AOD is quite impossible combination to factorymade headers.
