Looks great. Would love to have a street version of it. Had a Custom 300 in the late '60's. Ran a 292 4 barrel for a while and then a '65 300 hp 390 until I sold it. Guy I sold it to rolled it and totaled it. Still looking for  a Custom like yours. Have a spare .60 over 312 with the factory blower cam stashed away that needs a home.

Hi Glen,
Hand lettering is the way to go. The only thing I've found is make sure what you want and how it will look, once it's painted on you can't just peel it off.
I'm lucky because we have a vinyl cutter at our speed shop so I can try out lettering before I paint it on. Make sure you look at work on other cars the painter has done. Talk is cheep, having a car lettered a second time isn't. I know you know all of this but sometimes a little reminder is good. Can't wait to see your car when it's done, good job !

Thanks Larry, I have all the Lexan installed, I am using a glass windshield just in case we ever want to drive it on the street. Also have someone photo shopping the graphics. I am going to bite the bullet and have it hand lettered. http://forums.y-blocksforever.com/uploads/images/4b3513fb-d90d-4018-9d68-d550.jpghttp://forums.y-blocksforever.com/uploads/images/15597c03-6373-48ad-a84d-32b1.jpg

Maybe a 4 door would have been a better sleeper.

The world at large has had little respect for the mid 50's Fords. In that regard any of them that runs well is a sleeper. Chuck

Hmmmmmm...

Well, the color is a conservative hue of gray on my computer screen, Glen.  The color does show the body lines very well.

I don't think there is anything you can do in final assembly to soften your '57s demeanor and permit passing it off as a sleeper.  It will never be perceived as a grocery-getter.  The color may be sedate, but the body impression (lines and stance) even after the engine and tranny are installed will be... aggressive.   w00t

It looks GreaT!  Kudos on what you've done!   Smile
