I put a new car on the track this year.. 57 bird tube chassis glass body  333 Y, C-4

Took a couple races to work the bugs out, but currently running 10;50s   Like to get into the 9s eventually

Not really much. The Nationals went off as usual in June with fewer people making the trip. Most of our crowd is getting older. Not sure about the Nitrous for you guys but it will make that roadster fly again. Sad that you couldn't get the breakage cured on the old twin turbo setup but there is a reason these blocks don't like a lot of boost I suppose. Hope to see some great numbers in the New Years for you guys. Happy New Year!

Last round of Finnish Championships was at Kauhava Strip ( ex airforce airfield) and we had friday as a test & tune day. We managed to run eight times an got 11.883 as a best result. Saturdays qualifications were disappointing as there was lot's of track cleaning and only three runs. Weather was cool from mornings +10 degrees celsius to evenings + 16 degrees. Roope's second run was ok 11.928 / 182.97 km/h and that meant #10 out of 13 position at qualification. Sundays eliminations started with win over Roni Tekoniemi's AMC Javelin as Roni took a red light. On the second round it was Roope's turn to take a .100 red light against Johanna Ruusunen's Valiant. That was sad as Johanna stalled her Valiant after just jumped fron the starting line and didn't manage to start the car again. But, rules are as written and the one that makes a mistake first, loses... So, it was time to go home again and to fall into winter hibernation... Well, before the race we changed the converter from about 5000 rpm stall to about 2500 rpm stall version. That didn'n help us as best 60 ft was only 1,8 something and at the last race we had several 1.7s. ET record for Roope and N/A altered is now that 11.883 with 183,93 km/h. For next year? We really don't know... Adding NOS maybe, but that means building another bottom end...

For my car, the parachute is not required unless exceeding 150 mph.  On very rare occasions I do slip up and hit that number.  By design, I try to keep the car in the 146-148 mph range.  Here’s an ET slip from the June Y-Block Shootout at Dragway 42 where in the heat of the battle, I did break that 150 mph number with the Y.  Daniel had such a lead on me out of the gate that I ended up having to push it to catch him at the finish line.  Daniel still took the stripe but I did take the win by lieu of the red light by Daniel.
