My roadster has run a best of 8.845 in the quarter.  Backing this up at different tracks are 8.850, 8.857, and 8.858 times.  The best eighth mile time I find is a 5.580.

-Bob Saint James 9.10 / 173 mph.  Australia, 1974

Thinking when that record is made, I'm quite speechless.

Some kind of excel-table would be nice, where you can click results in every order.

Australian veteran racer was Bob St. Lawrence, not James!

It hasn't been but a few years since Randy Gumalt broke the record and ushered in a new era of the Y-Block story. Since then amazing things have happened with our favorite engines. There has been a world wide surge in interest to make the Y do what we always new it could. Now 500hp streetable Y's are simply a matter of the right combination of parts. Then some guy puts twin turbo's on and tickles the 800hp mark in a pickup! Not to mention the land speed records getting ready to fall. Thanks for letting this old Y's guy be a part of it. Chuck

Y's guys rule!
Looking for McCullouch VS57 brackets and parts. Also looking for 28 Chrysler series 72 parts. And early Hemi parts.

OK, My pure stock 57 F code has run a 13.70 @ 105.6 mph. Stock cam, carb, iron manifold, full exhaust, no porting blah, blah. Hoosier hurricane has run an 11.41 @ 119. something with a Super stock version, full size Fairlane. Another Amazing car is Wally Kerstien's 56 fairlane, unblown 312 is in the 11's @ over 110 mph. More to follow as people discover this issue. You guys are phenomenal, that roadster rocks.,
