We had an interview with Don Galaz with the Brotherhood of International Racers regarding the process to reopen this track in San Pedro, CA.
They can use your help by signing the online petition. Go to their website and check it out.

thanks! We had an interview with Don Galaz from the Brotherhood of International Racers about reopening the old drag strip on Terminal Island in San Pedro, CA. You guys can help. Irwindale is to close in December and we will lose another track. Terminal Island can facilitate an 1/8th mile easily or maybe a 1,000 ft track. Go to their Facebook page, sign the petition and tell your buddies. it comes down to drilling on politicians and mayor Garcetti. I signed. Used to go to The Brotherhood Raceway when Big Willie Robinson opened the strip on Terminal Island after they shut down Lions. Run by and for the "Brothers of All Colors".
We used to 'tune' our road racers there before race day at Willow Springs. We used to draw a crowd, not too many Street Racers ever seen a M/C accelerate a hard as a TZ750 Yamaha back then. Great fun...
Hope they can get it opened again. Davis, thanks for posting this.

Thanks for the update. It would be great to have a Drag Strip in South Bay Area again. Everything within driving distance has closed down,

Great News! unfortunately they just closed the closest one to me, Oxford Plains Dragway, they had it open for the show shine and drags and had the christmas tree working but did not have the finish line boards working with the times etc. That one was only about 35 minutes away, now the closest one is about 2 hrs, bummer.

The latest news, the Port of LA has not killed the proposal. apparently, one of the commissioners and a rep from the Long Beach Grand Prix are involved with this idea. if the mayor of Los Angeles were to get involved, we'd be running times now.
more later.
