I saw this picture on H.A.M.B. It said the car raced out of Performance Associates, Les Ritchey's shop. I think it says Rebel Rouser on the side. Does anyone recognize this car?

No idea but, nice historic pic. from 1959. note how they painted the undercarriage white. That would certainly help you to find out were leaks were coming from!

I can't I.D. the car, but for those that aren't familiar with Perfomance Associate's Les Ritchey, he was one of the first tuners to have success working on Ford's Y-Block engines. He may have been the first to deal with the early distributer issues. In late 1956 or in 1957, Fords in stock classes, tuned by him, were hitting 90-100 in the quarter mile. One car was, I believe, driven by a Bob Abella? Can't confirm that at the moment.. & due to the current keyboarding issue, I'll sign off.

Perfomance Associates apparently worked with Ford's Y-Block quite extensively. In 1959(?) they prepped a 57 Ford to be driven by West Coast driver, Marvin Porter. They took on the Nascar short tracks championship & Porter won it, edging out well known G.M. driver Rex White. According to the 1962 (?) Ford Performance Book by ? Brock (1st name escapes me) the engine ran the entire series of races, without having the pan off once!..

Gotta love those 1957 70As!! Too bad the nose is cropped off in that photo. Does anyone know what class it's competing in? Looks like AM/S on the quarter window. A Modified Stock? Anyone have an old rules book? I assume NHRA. Curious as to what mods. were allowed. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I think it is Ray Brock, I have that book, but it's too cold, -8, to go out in my barn and check.
