My '59 has a greaseable bearing. You can still get 'em. I decided, since I'm easy on clutches, to go with one that can be greased.

I'm sure it was greasable on the 63 F-100 I once had.

The greaseable bearing was standard on the Thunderbird Stick shifts of '55, '56, & '57.

The sealed bearings are more common these days. Chassis grease is fine, just don't over do it. Access is through the bottom dust cover.

Stumbled onto a replacement throw out bearing for my '57 stick Ranchero online this a.m. Was surprised to see it has a grease fitting. The truck is new in my ownership so I wasn't aware of this if mine is also a greasable type.
Do I access this through the bottom dust cover?
Regular chassis grease (I use Royal Purple in my gun)? Or something else?
Other stick cars I've owned had sealed TO bearings.
