I've been trying to find a front plate bracket for my '56 Fairlane but haven't had any luck. Anyone know where I can get one?

There should be two holes in the front bumper to accommodate a front license plate. I have had to machine a pair of small angled spacers for the rear of the plate in the past so that the license plate would remain straight and not deform to the curve of the bumper.

I might just have to do that. My current regular issue plate has been mounted right on the bumper and it is bent. I recently got a set of YOM plates for the car in mint condition and want to avoid any damage to them.

The 59's used a bracket which will fit the 55/56. It mounts on the two existing holes and allows the front plate to lay flat. marv

I saw someone selling a bracket for a 59 but I wasn't sure about it. His asking price seemed steep anyway for a rusty piece of metal.

My local old junkyards have a few 59s so that will give me a excuse to go there.

I'll take one too if you find enough. I'll swap you a powder coat job on your plate holder in exchange if you want. Chuck

All I could offer is to pay you for the part and some extra for your trouble.
