Nice looking 56. How accurate was the TV portrayal?

The show will be re-run several times this week. The episode is marked "Overdrive"with the washout in New Orleans.

We were happy with the episode. Our part went really fast. They did a bunch of filming, but they edit a lot to fit everything into a half on hour. Krista is very car savy, and is good at negotiations. The sidekick "Matt" is a total cheby guy, so we argued back and forth the whole time, but not very much of that is on the show.

Jerry K. from Albq. actually built the car, and did a great job. It had some Mummert and Christianson parts on it.

Pat if I had known that car was for sell at that price, I would have been on a Grayhound for Lubbock if I could have talked the wife and banker into it!

I saw that last night here on the West Coast. That 56 really lit up my imagination. Really nice car. I would have definitely given serious thought to buying that one myself. I tend to like The Car Chasers over the others so far. I was fairly pissed off at the mouthy kid though. They should have edited that out. Never understood why that kind of thing comes up, just alienates viewers who are Ford owners, same with some of the crappy car magazines. Makes no marketing sense.

Pat. Just watched the episode. I liked the fact that your part in it was a good five minutes long and the segment was at the start of the episode. It was nice not having to search for a short clip. I’m like Glen in that I’d have loved to had it at that price. I have fond memories of the ’56 Customline Victoria I had early on with a variety of FE’s in it. It was originally a 223 six car with a three speed standard but I started off with a 352" FE and worked my way up to a 427 Tunnelport with a series of 390's and 406's in between.

.

By my reckoning, you still have 10 minutes of fame coming your way as the show only used up about five minutes of your allotment.

The link works for me.

The kid says something like Chevies look better. What do you want to bet that he thought it had a Chevy in it because there was no distributor up front, until Pat says Ford Y Block. Even "Ford guys" get that wrong.
