I've got an old friend who is a tech writer - lives in the Nevada desert where he "can't be bothered". But......he showed me how to operate some keyboarding sysmbols that help when dealing with the technical subjects we like.
Like 75° - the little ° ........... Hold down the alt key ..(alt) then type 248 on the numeric pad (num loc "on"). When you release the (alt) key the symbol will appear.
The holding of the (alt) key and typing some 3 digit numbers invokes various symbols. For instance:
(alt)241 = ±
(alt)253 = ² (number squared symbol)
There are apparently many others - these just happen to be the ones I remembered!
