Rono (11/2/2013) Glen;
About 20 years ago I found a 56 F-100 big back window at a farm auction in Nampa, Idaho that I bid on and won for $625.

Glen; That's a great find! It's a real plus to find something with all the original trim, the doors on and the interior intact. About 20 years ago I found a 56 F-100 big back window at a farm auction in Nampa, Idaho that I bid on and won for $625. Rono

Glen, that's about what I started with. I replaced rear and front cab corners, door bottoms and skins, drivers side floor pan, door sill, running board to rear fender patch panels. Took me 6 years, but I think I could do another one in 2 years.

Well, I pulled the 113 head for a possible sale, so I measured the bore. It's a .060 over 272. The lack of a block casting number doesn't matter now. I also noticed the other head gasket is on backwards.

Not much to show yet Dennis except 60 yrs of dirt, grease, pack rat nest and rust. The old truck was most likely driven into the woods behind a barn over 30 yrs ago and parked. The fr axle was buried up to the spring hangers in sandy soil, so the only thing that saved it was all the grease and oil on it. The cab except for the lower A pillars and fr cab mounts is in very good condition for its age, still sporting its orginal paint inside. I am in need of a 53 or 54 grill if you have any leads on a good one let me know. I will try to talk Debbie into posting the pictures over here.

Bill: By the distributor are cast numbers/letters. There is a 5, and above it a B. Beside the 5 is a dash and an E. Doesn't really appear to be an actual casting number to me. I have someone interested in the 113 head, so when I pull it I'll look under the tappet cover for a number. Glen, to tell the truth I was more excited about the possibility of finding a 427 than the 292.

ditto on the beehive crankcase breather on a number of later blocks from 62-64. All of the ones I have disassembled like these came from trucks.
