That is an absolutely beautiful convertible. I saw an article on it somewhere. The builders eye for what the 56 could have been is amazing. I bet Henry would have liked it! Chuck

Looking for McCullouch VS57 brackets and parts. Also looking for 28 Chrysler series 72 parts. And early Hemi parts.

thanks for the info.
Also I think JRW429 is right about the fuel system. When I read about it in some mag it said it had a two four barrel setup. Well, It didn't look like it to me so I just figured it was a misprint or something.
When I first saw this car from distance I thought wow, nice vicky. BUT after getting up close I realized EVERYTHING had been massaged on the entire car. Gonna try to go back soon and take some more looks. I like the way the body was sliced up to enhance all the good things about the vicky design, but you can't always tell where they did what. And it looks like it could have been built by FORD that way.

Alan, Great pictures. That Old "FE" fits in the '56 pretty good, eh?

Thanks for sharing them with us.

Just to confirm it's a SOHC engine, with an electronic fuel injection.

Alan, I knew what it was, I was just joking. SOHC heads will fit the 385 series block (FE) and it has been done quite a few times. My understanding is you just have to run external oil lines to the heads... w00t And well modify the internals to Racing specs. Don't think a stock 390 short block would stand up very long...w00t

The Cammer was derived from the 427" Tunnel port FE block.

Awesome car. Scary cool. I believe that is not EFI, but rather a pair Autolite 4-barrel inline carburetors. Someone will know better than me, but I think they were developed by Ford to have an "individual runner" setup (one barrel per cylinder). Used for road racing. Boss 302 Mustangs with a "cross-boss" intake manifold was one application. Two or three different versions of the 4-barrel inline were developed. And a number of different intake manifolds. I don't think I've ever seen one on an SOHC before. Ford apparently did this to get something like an eight-weber setup, after weber carbs were disallowed by the sanctioning body. Very expensive now.

Did the vicky come on the street or a trailer? I have seen it in several mags, very impressive.

Good question. I don't honestly know, but I suspect it may have been there in storage or brought on a trailer.
