Anyone heading for the California Hot Rod Reunion races at Famoso (Bakersfield)? Should be about 26 A/FX entries along with door cars of all vintage. Nitromethane will be flowing freely.

CHRR at Famoso was just plain awesome. Wicked fast funny cars, FED's, ProMods and FE AF/X racers. Fasted times were in the 5.6 sec range. Track was in perfect shape. Far less oil downs this time. The best I have seen in the ten or so years. Searched high and low for some Y block representation unsuccessfully. Saw the roadster and coupe Tim posted pics but the hoods were closed and didn't know they were Y powered. I stayed all day Friday and Saturday. I did get a set of very fine NOS C2 iron rocker shaft stands, a set of NOS 30+ year old adjustable rockers and NOS Holman/Moody rocker shafts for the 445 FE I am building. Saw one Edelbrock 553 at the swap meet but that was all.

The guy wanted $250 for the 553, I offered $200 and he passed. Oh well, still a good time. Smile
