The thick oil did not hide the rattle in the 235 for very long so I will have to be thinking about a motor soon,I would like to keep it powered by a six and measured the 300 in my 95 F150 and its close to the same length. I might be able to almost bolt in a 223 or 262 six using truck mounts and that would confuse alot of people since the carb is on the same side and the two bolts on top of the valve cover, paint it the 216 gray and a couple Chevy stickers and even the diehards might have a hard time telling what it is. The oil filter in the block would be the only thing to give it away so that might be the best choice for a motor.
