Spent the week on my car for a change, Nephew called today to ask if I wanted to go to the last race of the season, one of them runs a Honda 4cylinder and he has won quite a bit this year. decided to tinker on my car after installing the toploader from a T10 and installing a Center force clutch. took a little test drive down the road and was getting on it in second and just shifted to third when I saw my hood start hoovering, I quickly got on the binders which should have kept it down but it was a very windy day and as I was almost stopped it came up over the windshield. Luckily didnt break the windshield but bent the corners prettty bad as they put a couple good gouges in my fenders and ripped the hinge bracket from my hood. spent the next couple hours fixing it, now I need a beer! The guy that was with me had to run home and change his shorts pretty quickly. Now I am trying to think if he closed it or did I, I normally double check to make sure its latched good.

I can imagine you jamming a hard second gear, the passenger side seat back heading for the back seat AND the hood flying up at the same time. Three good reasons for the passenger to change his pants! Chuck
Y's guys rule! Looking for McCullouch VS57 brackets and parts. Also looking for 28 Chrysler series 72 parts. And early Hemi parts.

A couple years ago a friend of mine had a hood pop up on him going over a railroad track.Did about the same damage to his 55 crown vic as yours did.I sold him just about a perfect hood and he got the bright idea to have it blasted to remove the paint, big mistake as it warped pretty badly. He used it but you can still see the waves in it.After that happened i thought about running a small cable from the latch to the grill pan but never got it done Carl
