Beautiful cars. Those counting cars guys do some nice things, but IMHO they screw a lot of them up, and don't know their older cars that well. I guess that's because they didn't live through the good old days.

Second car has the correct interior, I can't belive someone would restore a car as well as the first car and cut conners on the interior. I'll bet the guy who bought the car at auction for $96,000 doesn't know the seats are wrong.

Thats an interesting observation Lou.If I get the chance I will try and get the information off the ID plate.I have the Canadian Trim Catalog for 55-56-57 Ford-Meteor-Monarch-Thunderbird.We have a big Show comming up in 2 weeks featuring special guests Danny " Count" Koker and his sidekick Kevin Mack from "Counting Cars".Hopefully the owner of this Meteor will bring it.I can't believe they would install an incorrect interior in that Car either. If I can get the answer I will post it.

Is that engine color Canada only,it kind of looks like the color the Lincoln Y blocks are painted in the states.
Yes that is the correct engine color for Canadian built cars.

Is this the car?

It was sold for the price you mention.

There was a very similar car sold about two years ago for $99K.

Its the first link that you found. The second one looks the same but if you check the interiors they are 2 different car.Very similar selling price.Must have been a popular color combination in 56.Still a LOT of money but beautiful cars.

Just got back from a local Show+Shine. There was a very rare 1956 Meteor Sunliner(Canadian Fairlane Cousin) at the show.Owner purchased it at an Auction in the Spring.Body off resto.Floors painted to match Body color.I was able to find the sales results from the auction. This car sold for $96,800 +Buyers premium of 10%.Ad in 13% sales tax and it comes to $120,322.40.Had a very nice chat with the owner and he confided in me that he was prepared to go another $25,000 to acquire this car.One of 479 built with very few surviving.Just a regular Ford guy like you and I.Can't take it with you and I guess his Kids wont see that Money for a long time yet.Wish I had my Camera.
