My fuel gauge has never worked well since I got the car. It responds, but swings rather unpredictably during the first 1/4 to 1/2 of the tank, then by about 1/2 full until truly empty, the gauge reads empty. Since no one reproduces these, I still haven't found a fix. The part number B7A-9275-F is for all cars and Thunderbird, except sedan delivery, station wagon and retractable. B7A-9275-C is for sedan delivery and station wagon. It looks like B7A-9275-G might have superseded B7A-9275-C when the Ranchero was introduced, but I'm not sure. B7A-9275-B is for retractable.

The folks at Concurs list B7A-9275-C for sale. They claim it is for all cars, including sedan delivery and station wagon, except for retractable. I've been emailing to figure this out. The vendor who provides it to them lists it as B7A-9275-F, but Concurs decided to market it as B7A-9275-C, and Concurs continue to state that it will work for a wagon. I'm very skeptical.

Has anyone tried this? Even if it is the wrong part, could I transfer the arm from my old sender to the new unit and end up with a working system?

I bought one for a ranchero which uses the same tank, probably 5 or 6 years ago from dearborn classics. It reads full on a full to 1/2 fuel load, When it sits on empty I know its time to check my mileage notes. Bounces around alot, I wonder if you could put a ranchero/ wagon float arm on a fairlane sender?

thanks, Mark

Just had a look at my Ford Parts Catalog. The last part # for S/D, Wagon, and Ranchero is B7A-9275-G.Miller Obsolete Parts shows one only in their inventory.$135.00.Phone 607-722-5371.They may be able to confirm the original part# also.

I called and left a message (already closed for weekend, east coast time). I'll see Monday if they have this extremely elusive part. Thanks!

Too bad.Are you aware that Dennis Carpenter has a large stash of NOS Ford parts?Would be worth a phone call.Since he changed his website I can't figure out how to check his NOS inventory online.

Here's another source you might try-Jerrys Classic Cars and Parts.I just ran across his website.Specializes in 57-59 Fords. You can contact him through his website. Some really nice restoration examples of his work too on the website.

Mark, thanks for your ideas! Great to know I can come here for help. Unfortunately, neither Jerry nor Dennis have wagon senders. I may just get a car sender, take mine out, and see if I can make things work. I haven't taken mine out yet, so I don't know if it correct or not.
