When one is responding to a post and wants to insert that post so that ones response is specific to that post, how do you insert it in a "grey box"?

Thanks.

I think that Alan has given you the answer you're looking for. -Instead of toggling the 'Reply' button, toggle the 'Quote' button at the bottom of what you are reading and responding to.

Once you've toggled the 'Quote' button, you can also go into that quote you are replying to and edit the quote as to how much of it you want to use. As an example, maybe there is just one point in the member's input that you want to comment on.

Then, as Alan did, you can add your comment or reply under the quote you have copied. Smile

Thanks. How do you include two or more quotes in the same reply. How come Alan's quote didn't get a grey box and yours did? I did the same thing both times.

When editing a quote, be sure to leave the quote markers (

) at both ends of quote. The first one opens the box and the second one closes it. Without both, the ‘greybox’ will not form.

.

There are several options for adding more than one quote to a post. The easiest for me would be to simply have a second YBF forum window open and copy the quotes from window 2 as I bring them up using the quote button to the edit box on window one. I know that sounded complicated but in reality it's not.

Ted (8/18/2013)There are several options...

You can also edit the quote to contain just the part you want to refer to. Just remember to leave the quote marks at each end as Ted suggests.

Thanks,I had already figured out the quote - quote part and will try using Ted's method for inserting more than one quote.
