I just bought a 57 Merc wagon with a 3 on the tree.
Once I actually have it in my hands I will see what the tranny numbers are and get back to you.
Its still going to be 3 weeks till I recieve it.Coming from B.C. Canada, but I will get back to you.
The stick cars with a 312 engine are listed in the books. The 368 stick cars are NOT listed in the books.

I just looked at my Merc trans. The case is T85C-1 and the tail housing is T85C-7. I wonder if the T89 case has the wide bolt pattern or dual bolt patterns on the front face with the same internals as the T85?

looked it up on the net should have done that in the first place.the t89 was used on ford trucks in the early 60s and is a sister to the t85.im sure it belongs to this 57 merc.this would be a canadian car so im guessing thats whats going on.anyway i got a nice 312 for rebuilding.
