Happy 4th of July everyone! I hope you all are having a great day of sunshine and BBQ! I took my 53' to its first cruise-in last night, and it wouldn't have been possible without all of the help I received from the people on this site! Thank you all!

Thanks Chuck! The T-bucket was scrub powered, but the cobra hides it in the picWink I wanted to pop the hood and show my Y block off, but I'm pretty embarrassed of the wiring. The previous owner had it all cobbled up from when he had put the flathead in her and it looks terrible. I've got it so it's not as much of a fire hazard now and plan to rewire it as soon as i can spring for a Painless or EZ kit...

I know what you mean. I once had a 41 Ford convertible. It had been lead sleded in the 60's and had gone through several owners. I took 30' or more of wire out of it that wasn't hooked up to anything. I did find a few hot wires hanging loose too.

While waiting for Christmas or whatever, you can start by cleaning up the wires, making any necessary repairs to bad wires and the bundle them into a harness. I use small cable ties as I go. By tracing the wires to both ends you will probably be able to get rid of some. Good luck! Chuck

PS Its easier to work under the dash if you take the seat out first.

Oh yeah, Happy Fourth of July especially to our veterans and their families. Freedom isn't free! Chuck

Ps Just saw Barry Manilow on the "Capitol Fourth". He needs to retire. Talk about bad plastic surgery!

Chuck, I know what you mean. I've cut out numerous feet of wire, that were just capped with wire nuts, tons of exposed wire where the cloth coat has broken off... I've certainly a challenge in front of me.

Barry... HahaSmile

Mark, totally I bought the car thinking I could drive it and work on it. Boy was I ever wrong, there was nothing right about this car. I can't complain too much though, I was hunting for a project. This one is unraveling a bit more than I expected but it is keeping me busy and I got to work on it with my pops when he comes to visit!

I second, a special thanks to all of our Vets!!! Hope you all are enjoying some fireworks; we're going to see them right now!!!
