Hi Guy's

Thanks for all the help. I found a ECZ-9425-B manifold with the original 1272-1 Holley carb still on it.

I got the whole package for $100.00 bucks. Of course the carb needs to be rebuilt if I can find a rebuild kit for it. Not sure if there's a part number for a kit or if one is even available.

Thanks Again

The 4100 Autolite is by far the most dependable. The Bird required the Holley as that is all that the factory air cleaner fits (Hood clearance) and is a 465 cfm and if you think about how the '57 Thunderbird kicked everybody's a** 465 is plenty big.

Bob, I've got a 1273 Holley sitting in my shop, it's yours if you want it. I'm running a 465 Holley, which was considered the replacement for it on my 55, love it. Gary

I found a '57 Autolite 4100 for my '56. I got it for it's simplicity and reliability.

Some Carters, not so easy to tune, in my opinion not so great. Autolites on some fords and I think better. T birds had Holley 1273s 1272s 4150 style rated around 410 cfms of which if running right are really good and easy to tune. The Carters and Autolites which may have been called something else like ford were rated similar in the 390 410 cfm range. So you do have some choices and others on this site may go into more depth with what was available at the time and what they think worked best.
