John via Pegleg Hopefully you are resting comfortably now and getting ready for the seasons racing. Those arterial port and polish jobs usually do the trick. We are all pulling for you.

Any news about John yet? I've been thinking about him and his ordeal all day ..... this sort of surgery takes courage and optimism - which he has without a doubt - but it always has some risks. Lets pray that for today - the risks are minimized and he gets the "WIN" light running away. The family always spends more time thinking about the risk than the participants ...... I know I did when they repaired my Dad. I wish them well too.

Steve: No update yet. I missed the phone call from the surgeon because I was at another doctor's. I seem to have bronchitis, and the resulting violent coughing is not conducive to successful delicate surgery and recovery. You are right, the family is more concerned than the patient. I'm looking forward to getting the problem fixed. I'll return the surgeon's call in the morning, then I'll have a better idea what's coming. Thanks to all the Y's guys for their concern and prayers. God bless you all.

You can't be coughing during recovery. You'll get a chest brace for sleeping, laughing, and the occasional cough. My friend Rick had a Bypass a few years ago. He came to Columbus with Tony and I one year. Now his diet is worse than ever. His favorite meal is butter with a side of steak and potatoes and he bleeds Dr. Pepper. Be well, John.

Here's the latest. Got a call through to the surgeon's office, he's on vacation. Go to see him a week from tomorrow for a consultation. Then maybe I'll know when I go under the knife. Enough with the delays. Come on, medical people, let's "git 'er done".
