The explosion in West Texas at the fertilizer plant was felt as far away as 70 miles. Just wondered if you are far enough from the site to be safe?

Here's hoping Ted and everyone we know are safe. Others I fear are not. Take care.

That explosion was about 35 miles or so north of me. If I hadn’t been mowing the grass at the time, I’d likely have heard it. But as it was, I was unaware of it until someone called informing me. The local news networks have had around the clock coverage as search and rescue efforts are underway. Incredible destruction of the area for sure.

Prayers are out to all of those directly affected.

I'm amazed at the location of that plant in relation to the houses and apartments. I expect the town had grown towards the plant but I would have thought there would be more knowledge of how dangerous they are. This isn't the first massive explosion of one of these plants.

Prayers are with the families and survivors. Chuck

Guess everyone forgot about Texas City. If that warehouse had been as confining as the steel hull plates of a victory ship, I doubt if anyone at that nursing home would have survived!
