In the May 2013 R&C the article is called "retrofit 302 with y-block valve covers" It is a nice article, but they forget to mention that you must remove the valve cover to add oil and you will probably blow oil out of every gasket and seal on your motor. So this article must have been written for a trailer queen like most cars featured in their magazine. The adaptors are being sold by The Hot Rod Garage for $195.00 a pair if anyone is interested.

Gee, I've got it wrong. I keep buying stuff to make mine look like a Y-BLOCK. I think these guys are just jealous. There even used to be an adapter to put Y-Block covers on a scrub (read gm). Now that there is insulting. Chuck http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-301991.html
Y's guys rule! Looking for McCullouch VS57 brackets and parts. Also looking for 28 Chrysler series 72 parts. And early Hemi parts.

I guess to make things even they should make fake sbc covers for yblocks. How many do you think they would sell on this site?

I think that they should make fake sbc covers for y blocks that actually look like y block covers. That way we could get a set of aluminum covers for less than a hundred bucks like thy do.

It's one thing to fake an Olds v8 with an SBC, but faking a Y is flattery of the lowest order. How lazy and disrespectful can you get?
