Since its going to be a couple more years until I can get the 292 in the 55 I am going back to the way I had it when I installed the 351,I had 289 valve covers with original 55 decals but the baffles hit the rocker arms and had to tweek them and the pcv would not fit all the way in so it got cheap aluminum valve covers and breather cap. I found a set of OEM valve covers from a 302 boat motor that had nothing stamped on them and no provisions for the plug wire holders so when they arrive will paint black and will get the interceptor decals along with the converted original air cleaner, when asked about the motor I will say its the rare police motor and they were testing the front mounted distributors to see how they would work in fleet service.

I had dreams where he came back to life so I need to hide it a little until I can get the 292 built, the baffles in the cheesy aluminum valve covers and cheap breather cap do not do too good of a job of keeping oil in the motor so back to OEM parts.I would love to get some Y block valve covers on the 351 but where would I put in the oil and hook up a pcv so I am stuck with faking it with stickers. If I still get oil coming out after the OEM valve covers I wonder if the builder stuck in a high volume oil pump,I am not going to waste any money doing anything to the 351 since its more suitable for the car it will be going in after being removed from the 55. The woman is wanting to get back into racing so the 351 is going in a light car with 4.11 gears so she can run the carp out of it at the track, the nimrod who built it stuck in a cam that starts making power around 2000 rpms so no use in getting it where I originally wanted the motor since a 292 is being planned.

Weld the top of a Y block valve cover to the bottom of the 351 valve covers. Use a bolt, nut, and 2 washers to simulate studs and hold the grommets on.

Its got a kind of Y block look now so I am done trying to hide the 351,I hope to get the 272 I got off Carl on the stand this summer and apart to get sonic tested to see if it can be safely taken to a 292 bore and start the collecting of parts needed to build it

You could always drill the stock covers and put in two bolts with rubber grommets. That would confuse the quick looker. Chuck
Y's guys rule! Looking for McCullouch VS57 brackets and parts. Also looking for 28 Chrysler series 72 parts. And early Hemi parts.
